The Date
Sooooooo this guy Mark asked me out a few days ago. It was kind of random I don't really know him we just met a few times through work related stuffs, and on Saturday he asked me out. My initial hermit like reaction was to say no. But he seemed nice and friendly enough so I made myself say yes.
We went out last night he took me to Red Robin and I did what any nervous girl would do... I had a salad... and just picked at it and ate maybe 1/4th of it. So anyway we start chattering I discover that he is 26 which is 2 years younger then I am at my ripe old age of 28. This caught him off guard he thought I was more 23 or 24 which made me laugh but it seemed to amuse him he had never dated an older woman before XD.
Also discovered that he is going to law school. I suppose to allot of girls this would make him a good catch I mean a lawyer makes money right? In my head all I could think of was hmmmmmmm he’s going to be argumentative.... and he is probably good at it, I am also argumentative but I however am NOT good at it. So I was starting to wonder did this mean he's a you know yuppie kind of guy? He dressed the part going to law school and he drives a Toyota. So that’s kind of like you know two strikes against him in my head yuppies usually don't think much of fantasy or anime or any of the stuff I adore, cause it’s not cool you know. But then he kind of admits to me that in college he was in the chess club... me being the big dork that I am sees this as a good sign. Then he admits he was not only in chess club but he was president of it LOL he was all embarrassed when he told me that it made me laugh. SO I admit to him my love for anime and all things cartoons to which he admitted to me that he is a big comic book fan his all time fav being Spiderman. Mind you when we are talking American comics Spiderman wins for me hands down ever time so this pleased me greatly.
So we talk and discuss our fav TV shows me being addicted to LOST and him being addicted to Smallville. We talked about anime he is not hugely into it but he liked cowboy bebop and ninja scroll. He admitted to me that one of his all time fav movies is The Lion King. We both agreed that Raiders of the Lost Arc, and Empire strikes back are the best Indiana Jones and star wars movies respectively. Then we get into talking about books and discover we have read allot of books that are the same we are both fantasy buffs we discuss tolkein, feist, jordan, martin, lewis, a whole assortment of authors. It was kind neat to have gone out with someone so randomly without knowing them and discovering we had so much in comment.
SO we moved from the red robin and went to a little bar and sat and talked till midnight. I made the mistake of bringing up sports oddly enough he played soccer in high school (as did I) and he is a big football fan we talked about the super bowl (mistake) he's a big Seahawks fan and of course I am a big Steelers fan lol we choose to agree to disagree on the subject of that game. LOL!
So then we went back to my apartment and oh my bejesus did I get nervous. I must say he is very much an outgoing kind of guy and I am not used to someone so... forward. He of course kissed me which was nice he's a nice big guy very cuddly and comphy. But well we shall just say that he was a little overly aggressive for my comfort level. I like him but I think I would rather get to know him better before we get to that level it was a little too... fast for me. Anyway god love my dog he of course didn’t get what was going on but he wanted to play too and well barked at us LOL. Marks words "I feel like I am in high school and trying to make out with the hot girl and her father is sitting in the room with us"
Anyway I need to be better about telling him what my boundary’s are for now that I need to move a little slower I so haven't a clue what I am doing. But now I can say I have kissed more then one guy which is nice. :) He said I blush really easily and that I have a really pretty smile which made me all nervous. And he seemed amused that I was so nervous... I babble and giggle allot when I am nervous.
Anyway I was really tired so we ended up cuddling and I practically fell asleep on him he's very comphy!!!! He kissed me goodnight and left...
It was very dateish very interesting very different then anything I am used to. He is very outgoing and very social a bit of a partier which considering my tendency to be a bit of a hermit is probably good for me. We shall see where it all goes.
