Matthieu Ricard: Habits of happiness
http://www.ted.com/index.php/talks/view/id/191 I've been going to toastmasters at WPI. I've gone twice- I got to be the jokemaster last time. It's a lot of fun- there is a very lighthearted atmosphere. I feel comfortable, even though it's scary to speak in front of people. Already I feel like I could start giving speeches.
Table talks is one of the parts of a meeting, and they're fun. The "table talks master" writes down something for speakers to talk about. He usually writes out more than necessary, and they can be goofy. What's great about it is that if you're giving a talk, you have a license to say whatever shit you want- people tell blatant lies, but that's not the point, the point is just good public speaking, and trying to talk for exactly one minute.
