It's what liberals *do*. They are completely unable to even consider dealing with the harsh realities of life, so they retreat. Fundamentally, emotionally, they are children. Emotionally stunted 8 year olds. You can hear it plainly in their every cry of "It's not FAAAAIIIIIIRRRR!!!!". So they hide in fiction.

What's always remarkable to me is how people from all backgrounds, all ages, all locations, etc. can... all think exactly the same way. This continues to baffle me.

I can understand the politicians and the academics and the celebrities. They live in their own little bubbles and they don't live in the 'real world' anyway. But when I see real people that I know and people that other people know - all of whom do not know each other - yet they all not only behave the same way, but often use the very same catchphrases and slogans, that's just freaky! I know the culture itself brainwashes us all, but I still don't quite get how it happens, to such an extent.

To some degree, everyone does that. I repeat what I read here on melvins journal. Sometimes, I even repeat it word for word. It's a pretty human thing. Sometimes, some errors creep in, and I find myself repeating things that are not correct. It happens ( ... )

They will.keep spouting the same discredited lie for year after year, exposure after exposure. why? Because to a liberal, the facts are subordinate to the "agenda".

See, I can understand that coming from politicians or people in the media or others who have direct influence in changing the culture. They have a lot at stake, even if it's just their own reputation. But I'm guessing the average liberal person can't point to any agenda they personally have. They're just normal people living normal lives, yet they still hold to such views. I guess they just go with the culture says is for that 'greater good', without ever really thinking it through?

That's the part that gets me. I can't *not* think things through, even my own positions. Especially those! How can you not once wonder/ask yourself, "Is this accurate? Is this factual? How did I come to this conclusion about XYZ issue?"

Honestly, I sometimes wish I could be one of those people. Life would be so much easier if I didn't think so much.

It is a religion. That's why they can't let go of its teachings.

And while most are ignorant of the truth, please always remember and remind that many aren't:

Progressives (Godless communists) have studied manipulation and propaganda as our Founders studied how to make a just government. It is easy for us all to fall into habits of ... oh, picking some words at random... say... lust, greed, sloth, wrath, envy (cornerstones of selling collectivism). If someone in perceived authority justifies those behaviors in us it's easy to accept them. If those who know what is right stop talking the only voices we hear growing up are those telling us our base instincts are right. It works so well because they are playing on ancient concepts that have always worked on men. Gods of the Copybook Headings. It's been happening since the dawn of man.

But yes. I don't truly understand it either. I think it's that our culture is one of instant communication over large areas, combined with a centrally run education system, and the failure of churches or parents to teach. Since the 70s tv & teachers teach our kids ethics, meaning they learn none.

Wow, I hadn't read that poem before. Will have to read it a few more times!

I guess as with everything, the key is education. But how, exactly, I do not know.

It's amazing and quite scary.

Remember that "market place" refers to that of ideas and oration, not capitalism. He was writing when progressivism was selling big.

My intro to that one was a beck show, he read it, and dissected it during a half hour while I was installing windows. Not that many life-changing experiences occur while installing replacement windows.
