Elizabeth Warren's viral and dangerous rant

Here are three great links on Elizabeth Warren's rant.

Some may say it isn't worth considering. They are wrong. Warren's rant went viral, the sheep lapping it up gleefully without question or thought. Her argument is the same argument being made by the criminal, dangerous movement Occupy Wall Street. For that reason alone people should take a look at it. People who don't know better might think her argument held the slightest merit.

Elizabeth Warren's Voodoo Economics - The liberal Senate candidate sets fire to a straw man. "Funny thing is, Warren’s comments-her rage and resentment and sarcasm-have made her an overnight heroine.
In the video, she addresses an imaginary captain of industry:"
"A few points.
(1) This is a pretty powerful takedown-of a position nobody holds.[...]"
"(2) For someone who objects to the term class warfare, she sure draws a mighty bright line between 'you' and 'the rest of us.'”

"(4) [...] It’s the jillion other things government does-from corporate welfare to the Iraq war-that people object to."
"(5) Plenty of smart, well-meaning people also think even government’s core functions could be delivered better and for less"
"(6) Warren’s remarks epitomize the caricature of a progressive as someone who loves jobs but hates employers. She implies the captain of industry is simply sponging off society and hoarding the proceeds."
"perhaps she does not understand their reasoning. She certainly doesn’t give any indication that she does.
So for the record [...] 'It is the only institution that can legally threaten and initiate violence; that is, under color of law its officers may use physical force, up to and including lethal force-not in defense of innocent life but against individuals who have neither threatened nor aggressed against anyone else.' Many of those who truly love peace prefer to live in a society where the use or threat of violence is minimized. Maybe that idea simply hasn’t crossed Warren’s mind." I'm sure it has, but she doesn't want it minimized.

Elizabeth Warren: A Harsh Mistress
"The morality of the argument can be found, according to her, in the concept of the social contract as well as in the concept of 'pay it forward.' These are concepts that are important to discuss, but first let's examine the foundations she lays to justify engaging these concepts."

"In Warren's case, however, she is less focused on the consent of the governed and more interested in the obligations of the governed -- particularly the obligations to pay taxes. By her reasoning, a successful factory owner owes more to society because he, apparently, derives more benefit from the contract.
However, Warren's idea of the social contract is highly suspect, in particular because she is using it to justify an obligation to pay taxes. A contract is binding only when it is entered into voluntarily, and as political philosopher Lysander Spooner pointed out, taxation cannot be supported by the notion of the social contract because the government can take the money by force, so taxation is hardly something that can be entered into voluntarily"

"In her example, the factory owner received the benefit of roads and police and stable government. However, what she failed to note or to realize is that everyone in the society enjoys these benefits. They were not put into place to benefit only people who build factories."
"Warren also failed to point out that the factory, once built, will provide significant revenue to the community that it inhabits. It will pay property taxes; it will pay for electricity (a big revenue-generator); it will pay the salaries of a large number of workers, from whose salaries will be deducted more taxes. These employees will also spend the money that they earn, and this will be reflected in higher sales tax revenues and greater prosperity for the merchants of the town. These people will also be able to purchase nicer homes, which will be reflected in higher property tax revenues.
In short, not only is the factory owner a contributor to the society, but he is actually a super-contributor"

"The government isn't doing you a 'favor' by building roads and hiring police. It's doing what is in the best interest of society as a whole. In fact, it could be argued that the government does these things more for its own benefit than for the benefit of society as a whole, as building dependence on government places the government in a greater position of power over the people."

Rush: Elizabeth Warren Video One of the great teaching tools on Liberalism
"If they can make a claim that they, the government -- not the people being the government, but they, the stewards of government -- are paying for anything, then they can control everything. So in her mind, and what guides this thinking, there is no escaping government intervention and control if some aspect of the government touches all of us. You are born in a public hospital? The government owns you! That's an example of this kind of thinking."

"The factory owner and his employees pay taxes. What is so difficult to understand about this? She doesn't understand it, primarily she doesn't want to understand it. Not only did the business pay taxes, but the owner, the factory owner, paid taxes personally as well. And, by the way, is the only thing taxes pay for is education, roads and police protection? Is that it? If that's all our taxes paid for, Elizabeth, my, we'd be pretty cool with that. No, we gotta give money away to Solyndra. We have to have 16 different school lunch programs, so forth and so on. But this is the liberal justification for class warfare, for class envy, for redistribution of wealth, for taking, because nobody really deserves what they have. "

"Now, this is the foundation for redistribution of wealth. Also, fine... In her world, you make a factory, big product, fine, you keep a hunk of it? What's a "hunk," Miss Warren? Twenty percent of it? Seventy percent of it? What is a "hunk" of it? How much does this entrepreneur get to keep in your worldview? It's undefined in her sound bites here" It's ALWAYS undefined. If they define it they are limited in their quest for all of it.

"They never stop swinging no matter what. This is the kind of stuff they believe: Total collectivism. It's all found in Marx. It's all there, and it's all based on the presumption that all success is illegitimate, including the success of the country."

"Again, I cannot emphasize it enough: This is exactly the way Obama views this country in the rest of the world. This is the thinking behind Mao Zedong's cultural revolution. This is the thinking behind Fidel Castro's revolution, the kind of thinking that's going on in Venezuela -- and, as you can see, at our citadels and even in our government."

I can't remember, but did any of those mention how her rant is about how "the rest of us paid" for X but that 51% of the population don't actually pay income tax? I don't think they did. That alone makes any supporter of her rant an idiot or a zealot. Anyway...

Rush addresses what is truly scary here. Warren's rant went viral. Democrats believe this. Let's look at some of it again and cut through the bullshit to the core of what she is saying.

"There is no one in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody." "But part of the underlying social contract is you take a chunk of that and pay forward for the next kid who comes along."
Just look at those two items, especially in light of the fact that Democrats always want to expand government. They want government everywhere, touching every aspect of your life including the air you breathe. You can't escape them. Then look at that again.

1) To exist in this country government MUST have touched your life. 2) If government touched your life you OWE it (by force). 3) That debt you owe is not to pay for what has come before. You don't just owe what has come before and the monumental debt government has accrued recently. No, you owe government to pay for what you experienced, for whatever debt they choose to accrue now, and as much as they think they need for the future. You are in servitude to Warren in the name of those not born, and they will be born into servitude over this debt and the debt government will create for the next generation after.

Marxist, fascist, socialist, authoritarian, what? When they add "pay it forward" there are no limits. They are saying they own it all, and they will let you have what they decide. You know, each according to his need.
