Another Democrat Big Lie - Lincoln didn't care about slavery
In the vein of my post about the Democrat Big Lie regarding the 3/5ths Clause as part of their effort to falsely paint the Constitution as a racist document, I figured I should cover a similar lie about Lincoln.
Whether because he is a Republican, Democrats/Leftists must tear down all American icons in their quest for power, or their constant effort to balkanize blacks in America to keep them a loyal voting block, it is ever more common to hear over recent years about how Lincoln didn't really care about slavery. This is supposedly proved by a couple of letters. Liberals love to dig for some obscure letter to "reinterpret" history, context or reality be damned. In this case a different letter reveals their lie.

"Before the war, and even before he took office, Lincoln sabotaged a deal that would have prevented the Civil War and kept the Union together -- but would have allowed slavery to continue."
The source for his piece is incredibly the NYT. On occasion they get it right.
How Lincoln Undid the Union "Marked 'Private & confidential,' the letter instructed Kellogg to 'entertain no proposition for a compromise in regard to the extension of slavery. The instant you do, they have us under again; all our labor is lost, and sooner or later must be done over. … Have none of it. The tug has to come & better now than later.'"
"Lincoln, whom historians often portray as being more interested in saving the Union than opposing slavery, chose to do the opposite."
When you see a Liberal regurgitate the lie that Lincoln didn't care about slavery note who they are for the future. Try to figure out whether they are one of the ignorant Democrat sheep regurgitating what they've swallowed from their masters, or the far too common Leftist liar who knows better but pushes the false narrative to achieve Democrat ends. You can try to cure the former, and when they fail to listen note them as having become the latter. Please then begin to detest them appropriately. None of us can afford to continue to accept lies to promote a Leftist agenda.
