For those who read the Marueen Dowd piece here where she shamelessly and childishly attacked non-Liberal women, I just read a fantastic response in the same tone as Dowd's piece.

I'm willing to bet that the reactions to this will be shocked and hurt accusations towards Shiver of mysoginy and pettiness, and the resident chorus chiming in on behalf of poor Maureen and women everywhere. Don't expect any of them to be able to understand or even recognize that this is a piece of satire that so nails Dowd's usual style and meanspiritedness that it might as well have been written by her. Because it's from someone on their side, they won't be able to recognize that Dowd sitting there and talking about the "mean girls" is the ultimate in projection and adolescent wish-fulfillment, and Shiver's nailed that brilliantly. Dowd's nothing but a shrill harridan who lashes out at everyone, even some on the left, but what's most telling about her is the way she furiously backpeddals whenever her masters on the left get annoyed, and she's genuinely shocked and dismayed that they can't "take a joke." See her previous criticisms of Gore and Obama, the reaction from the left, and her quick switch in attitude. Then see her treatment of the right, and her cackling indifference to any reaction from that side.

They've proven repeatedly that satire, like so much else, is Liberal-only. Non-Liberals need not apply.
