Yesterday was my first time going into a bar as a patron, and I threw up immediately after I got home. I didn’t puke from booze, but rather from eating this god-awful dish of chili cheese-fries. Also, I smoked half a pack of cigarettes in under an hour after having not smoked in months-what was I thinking?
After I threw up I ate two plates of salad with carrots and caesar dressing. Also, I ate two bowls of grape nuts, a cinnamon roll, and then proceeded to drink over half a bottle of sake and almost a full bottle of Japanese Umeshu-a great dessert wine. From there I smoked countless more cigarettes, watched 1/3 of Dead Alive before ordering Chinese food on the telephone. Nyssa drove out in the snow to pick up our food, while I sat across from a friend doing something called “whip-its.” -using a balloon to inhale whatever is inside of the pressure pieces on whip cream bottles. He asked me to do a few, but being in no mood to huff anything other than cigarettes, I said no and joked around with him…

“Want to do a whip-it, man?”
“Uh, no thanks, I’ve got a lighter over here, I think I’ll just go ahead and sniff that…”
“Oh, right on.”
“Or, better yet-I could just crack open the lighter and drink the fluid.”
“Hahaha-oh man, that’s funny.”

By the time the Chinese arrived, I had no stomach for it. I ate a little bit of fried rice, and then sat around listening to records with Chris and Nyssa. We kept gushing about our intense love of pop music. We listened to Barenaked Ladies for an hour before I found the song Chris had been talking about all day-it wasn’t one of the better ones.
After Chris left, I watched an episode of Maison Ikkoku with Nyssa (a show which we were greatly disappointed in) when; suddenly things began to crack…
All of a sudden the show made a complete turn around. It became nearly perfect! Everything that was wrong with it (minus voice acting) fell into place and its soul became to shine through the mire of mediocrity. I fell in love with it. Suddenly I wanted every single season I could get my hands on-I will have them in the end.
Finally-I spent fifty bucks on action figures yesterday…I was glad it was Christmas time, and then lady at the checkout stand probably thought they were a present for brothers, sisters, cousins, or any other such children.
