“Changmin, listen to me-!” Jaejoong’s frantic voice shouts, pounding his fists, relentless.
Changmin slaps his hands to his ears and sobs, burying himself into his duvet.
“Min, listen-I’m sorry! I’m sorry…I’m sorry…” Jaejoong whispers, sliding down onto the floor, back pressed against the hard wooden door. “I’m sorry.”
Changmin closes his eyes and tries to burn the image of Jaejoong kissing that girl in the back of his eyelids.
///flashback///
“Jaejoong,” Changmin says, eyes holding confusion. “Did I do something wrong? Why are you avoiding me?”
“I am not mad nor avoiding you,” Jaejoong says, checking his nails. “I’m just… busy, that’s all.”
“But I saw you hanging out with a girl yesterday!” Changmin yells, then glances quickly around and whispers angrily. “You said you were studying for an exam!”
Jaejoong rolls his eyes. “I was taking a break. Geez, you’re not my mother.”
“No, but I’m your boyfriend,” Changmin says indignantly.
“That doesn’t mean you could boss me around and put me on a tight leash 24/7! If I knew you would be like this, I would have never asked you out in the first place.”
“I just want to know what you were doing!” Changmin exclaims, positively fuming. “Well, if you think that, why don’t you break up with me, right here, right now.”
Of course, Changmin didn’t really mean that. If Jaejoong looks closely, he could see the way Changmin fidgets and looks down. He was hoping he would say no, and receive an “I love you” from the older man.
Jaejoong smirks. “I would, but,” he steps closer and kissed him, stealing his breath once more. “I don’t want to.”
And with that, Changmin was melted into a puddle of goo.
///
“Changmin, I think you’re ruining yourself like this,” Yunho sighs.
“No,” Changmin sniffs. “Jaejoong loves me. He wouldn’t do that.”
“And pray tell when was the last time he said that?” Junsu asks, rolling his eyes.
Changmin didn’t answer, and the two knew right away.
“You’re hurting yourself, Min,” Junsu whispers, threading his finger in his soft locks.
“Don’t hurt yourself,” Yunho continues softly.
///
Jaejoong leans against the railing, puffing on a cigar.
“You’re hurting him, Jae,” Yoochun speaks up.
“So?” Jaejoong snorts. “It’s not like I’m gay or anything.” His eyes wander to a blonde woman clad in a mini skirt, barely cover her ass, and an ill-fitting, see-through top, showing her cleavage. He smirks and looks away, but not before roaming his eyes over the exposed skin.
“Just think before you act, Jaejae,” his best friend grins. “For all you know, it would backfire, and you would be left with nothing, but regret.”
Jaejoong raises an eyebrow. “What are you, Einstein?”
“No,” Yoochun laughs. “Just giving you a piece of advice.”
“Like I’d regret anything; he’s just a toy.”
“Whatever you say, Jae, whatever you say.”
///
“Hyung,” Changmin calls softly. “I’ll go to the club you said about, but after that, stop saying that Joongie is cheating on me!”
Junsu smiles grimly. “Sure,” After all, I won’t need to tell you after you’ve seen it for yourself, he says in his mind.
“But,” He makes a sound and looks at his closet. “I don’t have anything to wear…”
Junsu claps his hands and says excitedly, a devious grin creeping on his usually angelic face. “Don’t worry. I got everything all planned out…”
Changmin’s eyes widen and he looks at Yunho for help.
Yunho raises his hands and smirks. “Don’t go crawling to me for help, Minnie.”
Changmin groans and Junsu coos. “Don’t worry, Min, it won’t hurt… much. You needed a makeover anyway! When was the last time you cut your hair!”
“Uh, a year ago?” Changmin answers in a small voice.
Junsu’s eyes narrows and Yunho protests. “Don’t cut it, Su-ah! I kinda like his hair long.” A glint.
“I’m just gonna cut his hair a bit! It’s not like it’s a crime or anything!” Junsu grumbles.
Junsu grabs Changmin’s wrist and leads him to the bathroom. “Yunnie, could you get the scissors, please?”
“Sure,” Yunho replies.
“Let me go,” Changmin moans and tugs feebly.
“No!” Junsu squeaks. “What I say, everything goes!”
“I can’t believe you’re really older than me!” Changmin complains. “So childish!”
“Well, well, you’re more childish than me!” Junsu counters.
Yunho coughs and they ignore him.
“Well, you’re like a nail,” Changmin snorts. “I want to cut it, but it keeps on growing! So annoying!”
“So mean!” Junsu says, pouting.
“Okay, okay, break it up you two,” Yunho commands like a father to his son. “No fighting, no bickering, and no playing especially when holding a sharp object,” he took a glance at the object in Junsu’s hands and says. “Like that,”
Junsu scoffs, amused and takes the opportunity to drag Changmin to the bathroom. “What are you, our father?”
“No,” Yunho says, crossing his arms. “Just a very loveable and caring hyung.”
Junsu smirks.
///
Changmin shifts nervously, “Hyung, I don’t think this is such a good idea.” He shouts over the booming music.
Yunho waves him off, “It’s fine, Changmin-ah.”
“We’ll stay with you,” Junsu promises, staring at a particular blonde, flirting with a female in a skimpy outfit.
Changmin notices and quirks a brow. “Hyung?” His eyes scan the dance floor, skin on skin, and his eyes comically widens. “I-Is that Jaejoong!?” He splutters, eyes zeroing for a closer look.
Yunho and Junsu shares a look and the oldest replies, “See for yourself.”
Changmin wastes no time and pushes himself past the crowd; the other two trailing behind closely. Within seconds, he reaches them, not doing anything.
“Hyung? Jaejoong hyung?” He finally calls out.
Jaejoong’s head snaps towards him and casts him a glance. He turns back to the girl and whispers something inaudible. The girl giggles and scampers away.
“What?” He responds coolly.
“What are you doing here?” Changmin asks.
Jaejoong rolls his eyes. “I didn’t know I need a reason to be here,” he says sarcastically.
Changmin hides his hurt gaze, “Hyung.”
“What!” Jaejoong spits out, losing his patience.
“I-I, you love me, right?” Changmin sounds close to tears, clinging desperately.
Jaejoong makes a disgusted noise. “Sure, now be a good little slut and blow me.”
Changmin drops to his knees instantly, hands fumbling for his belt but Yunho and Junsu pull him back up, glaring distastefully at him.
Yunho swings his fist and punches Jaejoong. “Bastard,”
“Come on, Min, he doesn’t deserve you.” Junsu tugs at him.
Changmin shakes his head. “He loves me, I know.” He looks at Jaejoong with tear-filled eyes and says shakily, “I know… you love me.”
Jaejoong snorts, and glares at the offender.
“Our promise,” Changmin says. “You promised.”
Jaejoong smirks, wiping the blood off his lips. “Whatever.”
Changmin closes his eyes and stumbles his way out of the club. “I just want to be alone,” he tells his friends. At his apartment, he slides down the wall, and lets out his first tears.
“He never cries, is something wrong with him?” His mother presses, hysterical.
“No,” The doctor answers. “We found nothing wrong with him.”
Jae, I love you.
///
The next day at school, Changmin is cheery and giddy, acting like nothing happened.
“Hyung, I cooked you some food!” He chirps at Jaejoong, smiling shyly.
Jaejoong raises an eyebrow and opens the bento. “Kimchi, and steak?”
Changmin nods enthusiastically, “Yeah! I know you love spice food, so I made it extra spicier!”
“…Okay,” Jaejoong says, and turns to leave.
Once he’s gone, Changmin sighs and drops his head.
I’ll give it a last try, Jaejoong. Make me convinced that you don’t love me, and I’ll leave.
The rest of the day consists of fake smiles, and awkward laughs.
“When are you going to end it?” Yunho asks, mildy frustrated.
“I’ll give him one more chance,” Changmin speaks, solemnly.
///
“So he even made you a bento?” Yoochun asks, smirking, snatching a piece of steak. He immediately spits it out after a couple of chews. “Ah! Spicy!”
Jaejoong laughs and shoves the steak into his mouth. “Hmm, not bad, a bit hard, but not bad at all.”
Yoochun stares at him like he has another grown head. “Not bad?" He cries incredulously. “That thing’s spicy as hell!”
Jaejoong shrugs. “You’re just a wuss.”
“Am not,” Yoochun argues. “You’re just like a devil,” he says, with no real heat.
“Maybe I am,” Jaejoong says nonchalantly.
After a slight pause, Yoochun says, “Jaejoong, you know you’re hurting the kid.”
Jaejoong’s eyes flashes, “Why do you always bring him up?”
Yoochun shrugs.
“You don’t like him, do you?” For some reason, he feels jealous. He clenches his fist and glares at his best friend, and only friend.
Yoochun laughs, “No, why? Would you be mad if I dated him?”
For some reason, Jaejoong feels like beating his best friend up. “No,” he growls and makes a move to stand. “Do whatever you want.”
///
A few weeks past by and frankly, Changmin doesn’t know if he could take it anymore.
“Hyung, maybe you guys are right,” Changmin says.
Junsu ruffles his hair, “Right about what?”
“Jaejoong.”
“Oh,” Yunho sighs. “Honestly, you should’ve broken up with that bastard a long time ago.”
Junsu nods in agreement.
But Changmin doesn’t have the heart to let go.
///
Jaejoong pants softly, “You like that, don’t you, you little slut.”
Changmin moans, leaving faint scratches. “H-hyung! Please!”
“Please what?” Jaejoong smirks and slows down his thrusts.
Changmin shakes, “Please! Fuck me! Fuck me hard till I can’t fucking walk.”
“With pleasure,” with that, Jaejoong slams him onto the door, pulls out, only to thrust back in making Changmin scream wantonly.
In the middle of being fucked, Changmin closes his eyes, a red tear seeping its way out and whispers, “I love you.”
Jaejoong doesn’t notice.
///
The last time Changmin visits Jaejoong’s apartment, he walks into his boyfriend being laid.
Changmin gapes at the scene in front of him, unable to think properly. He backtracks, sobbing, and too blinded by his tears, he trips by the table.
Pain.
All he sees is red.
A loud curse and a thunk was heard in the bedroom and Changmin gasps. He hurriedly clutches his leg and slowly stands up. The footsteps became heavier and louder, followed by the flicking of the light. Jaejoong gasps and Changmin quickly tries to run.
“Ch-changmin, you’re bleeding.”
Changmin tries not to gasp at the worried and scared voice of the other. It was the first time he had shown to be affectionate and caring.
Jaejoong grabs his arm gently but Changmin shakes his head and screams.
“Changmin! Changmin, it’s me!” He says helplessly.
Changmin sniffles and makes a mad dash for the door, but the sharp pain in his leg told him otherwise.
“S-stay away from me!” Changmin curses himself for stuttering.
Jaejoong’s eyes hold hurt but it was nothing compared to what he had put Changmin through.
Changmin grits his teeth and forces himself to be calm. “I-I hate you,” he says finally. “You bastard,” he gasps.
“Changmin-I’m sorry,” He says again.
“Sorry for what? Sorry for being caught?” Changmin asks harshly.
“No, I-”
“Forget it,” Changmin sneers and runs, ignoring the pain in his leg, Jaejoong following closely after.
“CHANGMIN!”
///flashback///
Changmin sobs and clutches at the sheets tighter, painting it crimson.
I gave you 2 chances to prove yourself…
It’s a chance too many…
And you threw it away like it’s nothing…
No more chances, no more reasons, no more tears to let go.
How could you?
