OK. So I've been told to give because:
1. it will bring me closer to God
2. it will make me more like God
3. I will be blessed in return
4. it makes me feel good (or something like that - if anyone remembers or owns the book, can tell me?)
5. I can't
6. remember the rest.
Me, me, me. It's all about me, isn't it? Can't we give simply out of sheer gratitude because we can? Do we actually need 6 redundant points for this?
OK lah. I will give credit where credit is due; not everything he said pisses me off. Like, for example, we shouldn't give because we feel the compulsion to. Yeah, man. The last thing I would do at a rally where an alleged hot-shot speaker is on stage hyping everyone to give, is give. Come on lah. I'm 24 already OK. There is only so much I can get psyched up about. I know where I stand, and I know why I give (and it's not because I will feel better about myself). I don't need any more pep talks.
