“Don’t you grow too old for these antics, Garrett?”
The room was dark, the window empty, but he could feel the grin boring into his back. Garrett liked to tout himself as mysterious and unpredictable, but there were clockwork methods at work from time to time.
“Never.”
Friends didn’t steal from friends, but even though he knew the gems in his lockbox were missing, he was sure Garrett would make a proper, fair exchange. It just wouldn’t be with glitter and gold.
