Go Skateboarding Day was legendary. This has by far been the best kick off to summer that I have ever experienced before. I woke up around 9 and everyone came over around 9:20 and we immediately drove the Baltimore, MD to get in a session from 10-12 before we were to meet the SOC krew at the Legg Mason building. When i got there most of the WCP / ISP krews were there so my car completed the krew for the most part. We skated at this pavilion in the inner harbor for a while. It's the one right in from of the big hill with the cannons on top. While i was there I ollied the biggest gap that I have ever done in real life. It was a three stair followed immediately by a double block so essentially a triple block, but bigger. You'll see the clip soon enough. It was quite massive. At 12 we skated over to Legg Mason. Vitamin Water was there to sponsor the Go Skateboarding Day event and gave out free Vitamin Energy drinks to everyone along with Smart Waters, too. So security came and made everyone move to the side walk because it's illegal to skate on Legg Mason property but that was okay because 5 minutes afterwards the day began. 500 skateboarders cruised down Pratt Street, stopping traffic, flicking cops off, screaming GO SKATEBOARDING DAY 2007! WILD IN THE STREETS! It was complete madness, total chaos, totally amazing. The goal was to follow the Get Gnarly car, an old Buick that had been turned into a retched thrash mobile of skateboarding madness, we got off Pratt and onto another street and skated down to Fells Point, when a cop pulled over the Get Gnar Car. Luckily the officer was cool about it and we skated back towards the inner harbor to hit up the square ledges next to the ESPN Zone. The whole "skateboard parade" ordeal took about 2 hours of skating in the middle of the street, both sides of the roads mind you because there were SO MANY SKATEBOARDERS, and it was the best experience that I have ever had in my entire life. Honestly. The feeling of cruising down the mainstreet of a large inner city with all of your krew is just wonderful. And not just your krew, but everyone's krew, the entire Maryland skateboarding community came to show up. Kids from CHS, WLHS, Hebron, everywhere were down there to skate. Even two girl skaters were there. The SOC guys who organized the event were cool and after the parade before the congregation broke up, there was a product toss, decks, trucks, wheels, and bearing. Classic skateboarding at its best. Wild In the Streets truly did prove how many people are out there shredding. I wish more people could have been there to see the masses of all these skaters. The entire downtown area of Baltimore did though, you can ask them, because they were there, and so were we. Let me just say this one more time. Go Skateboarding Day 2007 was Legendary. We hit spots for the rest of the day until 8 o clock and Evan and I got free tickets to the Dew Tour which was actually not so great. But thats besides the point. Every spot in Baltimore City was skated today, thanks to a great idea to turn the first day of summer into Go Skateboarding Day. Right now I'm just so hyped at how amazing the turnout was for this year that i'm honestly just in awe. Anyways, after trick, after clip, after bail for 10 whole hours of skating, I am completely sore out of my mind. I wish I could recap every single event that happened today, along with everyone's good tricks, but there are just too many. Sooo much hot shit went down to even talk about. Maybe you'll just have to ask me some details another time. Anyways, I must tend to my wounds. I love skateboarding.
