Books, mostly

That last post was so fucking whiny. Fuhgettaboutit. I'm actually having a lot of fun; it's a historically fascinating country, and architechturally the buildings I've seen lately have been unlike any others in the world. Also, and this is stupid, it's exciting to see places I've read about in books like Angels and Demons (which my apartmentmates at UCLA and I agree is better than his other book, The Da Vinci Code). For those of you who've read Angels and Demons already (the rest should skip to the next paragraph), I've already been to the sites of "Water," "Air," the inside of the Vatican (including the famous St. Peter's Basilica where (in real life) the Pope addresses the masses), and the Pantheon.

Speaking of reading, I've been doing quite a lot on the trip. I knocked off two bestsellers, The Kite Runner and The Glass Palace, in the first week. I've also got a Sudoku puzzle book for long car rides, like the ones around the windy roads of Elba (reading on roads like that makes me carsick, but strangely filling in numbers doesn't).

Anyhow, enough about books. I'll be home on July 5th, see you then.
