Here is more stuff I encounter on a regular basis that I find either a) amusing or b) abnormal in my everyday experience.
I love names of stores here. It's either the exact name of whatever they're selling (like "Stationaries," "Frames," or "Food") or a variation of that such as in this picture. I wonder what they sell here-Electricians? or Bulbs? or do they fix only bulbs? Communicating clearly is definitely not a strong point here in Egypt.
Egypt is a total cash society. Usually in a store the "cashier" will have like a drawer with money scattered throughout it. You pay everything in cash. I often have lump sums for things like my rent money shown here.
Now I've shown pictures of this before. The dudes who sell pitas. They ride around on their bikes with it balancing on their head. The bike will usually have a flat tire or two. It just amazes me everytime.
Now this is what the pita dudes will do to scam people. They will just leave the pita bread on the street and then they'll hide around the corner. A passerby would think it's free and pick some up. That's when the dude will bolt from around the corner and yell at people until they pay for it. I love how he just puts it directly on the street. EWW
All I have to say is HOLY ()&@#)(. We swerved out of the way of this little girl just in time thank goodness.(/center>
Clothing stores will show off the latest styles with the creepiest manicans ever. Usually they have chunks missing from their faces and just look weird to begin with.
Here's what I mean by chunks missing.
I love this. The dolls are being held up in the window with strings going through their mouths and stuff in the most awkward positions.
