good things from easter
ok, so did have a few good times over the last 4 days so thought id write about them to make myself happy as have got myself all worked up.
Friday got up and went to the gym. They had told me the crache would be opened but the person never turned up so one of the instructors had a key and said he would mind river for me for half an hour while I had a quick workout and he had 3 of his own. So had a quick work out and when I went to get river he was having so much fun he didn’t want to go home. Made me realise how much more room kids need, and how many more toys!!! He just loved the pool of pools and the rocking horse in there.
River was sick with a bad cough and runny nose (was getting worse as the day went on) so we just hung out at home and in the back yard as did we on saturday, not too long but was fun. Did some cooking, spent loads of time with River and watched my buffy marathon. Sunday we went up to the park and i let river walk/crawl about on the grass. he loved it though seems to think mud and bark are chocolate and keeps putting it in his mouth all the time. He had so much fun he refused to get into his pram so he pushed it all the way home, well to the top of our street when it started raining and I made him get in so we could rush home and not get wet. He is really cute and loves pushing his pram. will have to get a pic of it.
Jo and Jodie had given me a few bottles of nice wine so each night at 5, would have a few glasses and relax. Didn’t have anything before 5pm so I didn’t feel like an alcoholic drinking by myself. Most of my mates were away over the weekend so rang a few people back home to catch up and also gave Docs parents a call. His mum Nicky has moved to qld now so tried her but no answer so rang Lionel, docs dad. Lionel has stayed behind in Taupo to finish up work and sell the house, Though he finishes up work at the end of April and I think will go soon afterwards as the house is up for auction 21 May, so no point waiting around until then. Let the real estate earn there money! Nicky then called me the next day from Qld, so was great to hear what she had been up to. Sounds like so much fun./ She had been fishing and doing loads of outdoor activities, seems so foreign over here in old London town, where outdoor activity usually involves a good beer garden.
Was really nice talking to them as usually darryl takes the phone off me after about 1 min, or rolls his eyes at me telling me to not talk long etc etc, as we all know I can talk when I get started, but was so nice as they usually called when I had just had my little boy for company for the last few hours and needed adult conversation. Lionel even gave me a call last night to check up, so was very sweet. Im really glad I get on with my future inlaws. Darryls family are all really down to earth and great to get on with. Will be fun having them so close to us in aussie (well 1 hour on a plane, but fares are not too much and we can go up there for weekends away etc.)
