Five random observations

Because I don't want to clutter up Facebook with these random thoughts:

1)  When your husband works at Domino's, you actually eat less pizza. See, he usually comes home pretty late, so he doesn't bring it home for supper or anything. And since he is sick of it from having it at work, we don't have it during the day. Tonight he came back "early" (9pm) so I told him to bring along a pie (he gets a 50% discount). I am now very full. The boys will have it for lunch.
2) The made-for-tv remake of "The Music Man" with Kristin Chenoweth and Matthew Broderick just doesn't work for me. It completely lacks soul. It makes me sad, because I actually love both of those actors, the costumes and music is just lovely, but I have such a deep love of the "original" (Shirley Jones/Robert Preston) version that nothing can compare. On the up side, Max actually enjoyed parts of it because he was fascinated with the idea they were going to put together a band.
3)  I am inordinately excited about taking a trip to Staples tomorrow for back-to-school supplies. I have always had a fetish for office supplies (and hardware stores too, which is odd because I'm not particularly "handy"). Staples has pocket folders for a penny and a lot of other very cheap items too, so I can't wait to stock up on glue sticks, sharpies, etc. Yes, a lot of this is provided by my school, but as every teacher knows, there are some things you just end up buying on your own.
4)  I am really enjoying the olympics-- the gymnastics in particular-- but since Jeff doesn't want to watch them, it's a little lonely watching by myself. I have a lot of fond memories of watching with my mother and it's a little sad I can't do that.  It's hard to want to say "Wow, did you see that??"
5) It's raining. We've had a marvelous summer here in Maine, weather-wise, with beautiful sunny weather most of last week, but I just love variety. I also love lying in bed listening to the rain. So that's what I'm off to do.

Goodnight!
