Life proceeds apace. Still a fair bit of stress, but one way or another, it will all be over soon. If the house goes through (and that's still not a certainty...even at this late date), the the closing date will be June 8th: next Friday. Scary. I'm still having fun planning out where the furniture will go (Max and I have been playing with a neat online tool that lets us move things around virtually) and what renovations will happen when. I found a really cool flooring product for one of the unfinished basement rooms that is kind of like fake hardwood meets exercise mat: a foam tile with faux wood veneer that is totally waterproof and comes in interlocking tiles. It's kind of spongy, so it will be great for a room where the boys can play, and it is very easy to install yourself with no prep needed, so it's hugely cost effective.
School-wise it's getting stressful as well, but we are nearing the homestretch. Final exams start on June 13th, so we're down to the last couple classes and review days in each of my courses. In fact, seniors are done on Friday (they have TWO WEEKS of marching practice...what's up with that???) so there's not much time. It's been a long year, but I've learned a ton and I can't wait to have the summer to work on plans for next year. (I am enough of a geek that I actually LOVE planning curriculum, and now that I know what my kids can be expected to do, I will be able to hit the ground running in the fall).
Dad's health is still shaky, but he's home and still getting in-home therapy, so that's about all we can hope for.
I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow to schedule my hernia surgery-- I'm hoping for the Friday after school lets out, so I can have a good chunk of the summer to recover, but we'll see.
And that's the news of the moment.
