Grene Wode, Part Two
So, wulfstan and I woke up on Friday to overcast skies that threatened rain. Undeterred, we kept stuffing our camping gear into our van and gamerfrog237's Jeep as the Heavens opened. As we went along, we became more anxious to get everything out of the rain and by the time we were done packing up, Rick and I were ready to say to heck with it and just go back inside! But we didn't - we got in the van and drove to Aldergrove and Donatello's farm.
I'm so glad we did! The weather cleared up as we traveled west and we were the only ones there for HOURS. We took our time getting the Costco pavilion up and got the kitchen tent set up the way we liked. There were a couple spurts of rain, just enough to tell us what needed tweaking for rain protection, then it cleared up again. The kids played toss with Haley and Don and eventually, da_kitten and her beau arrived. Rick set about helping them erect "Lilimarg", their Norse A-frame tent (insert drooling here), then returned to us for tea and visiting.
dangerbrat had called us earlier in the day, reporting a nasty flu bug and would join us the next day. We made sure to set the encampment up so that she would have a nice, secluded, protected place to camp.
