Adventures on the Playground

I'm babysitting again tonight. We spent time on the playground of the apartment complex.

I was sitting down. I asked the three year old if he wanted a piggy back ride. He said yes. So I lift him onto my shoulders THEN ask if he wanted on my back instead of my shoulders... He says, yes, on the back. So, like a moron, I tried to lift him up and down to my back, while I was still seated.

I started to fall backwards. My first instinct was to protect the toddler, getting him clear of me as I lost control... Although, after further consideration, I think that should could survive a three story fall and be ok. I, however, fell straight back and thumped hard on my back and head, like someone who had annoyed a pro wrestler. I think I was a bit stunned, while the toddler feigned concern for my well being.

Ow.

Another thing from the playground... What kind of sick or stupid person gives a 6 year old girl a whistle??? She would not stop. Dear lord.

Edit: I did say it was my instinct to protect the toddler. But I think there was still a half split second there when I considered using him to break my fall...

funny, nephews, family
