So. I started my first sketches yesterday. I'm trying to figure out how I want the characters to look. Right now they're a liiiiiittle bit on the anime side in places...and thats not really what i'm going for. I'm not sure if I want them to be really simple drawings or what. Difficult since I don't really have a style yet.
Also-color. Should I draw it and then ink and color? Should I just do pencil/color pencil? Should I do something more artsy with watercolors or something?
I haven't drawn or painted in years so there are a lot of techniques i need to explore. I think for right now I'm just going to be practicing different styles and making mockups of characters. So far the major characters are 2 little asian girls on the plane, an amazing hippy riding a bike on a pier with a guitar, a little latina girl tangled up in fishing line, joel and me.
There was a comic book class at little street art center but they aren't offering it in the next term. sadness.
I might just take a figure drawing class later in the summer if I have the funds.
Practicing before my guitar class starts--and man am I slow. I mean, I've got this A chord fuckin DOWN. But the rest elude me. I might be getting somewhere with C. This is going to be a long road. Hopefully the class will help. I'm more a hands on/class environment learner anyway.
I would like to take this moment to commend one Allison Shoemaker on her potential Major Award.
And I would like to take this moment to quote the funniest first line of a review I've ever read "Wow. This might be the worst show I've ever seen."
And I would like to take THIS moment to give thanks.
Thanks.
