so, at 8.40 this morning,i woke up to my stepmom pounding on my door, sticking her head in and saying, "carrie, i'd get out of here if i were you." "why?" "cuz the hangar is flooding."
the hangar had water literally pouring (like a waterfall) out from under the door. it ran under the door to my room and bathroom. the backyard (where the water was pouring in from) was six to seven inches deep in water. our pool was overflowed and indistinguishable from the concrete patio surrounding it.
my cat got caught out in the storm. more than belly deep in water, he decided not to move, and looked at me with this really sad look, so i truged out in water that rushed (like a river, literally RUSHED) around my shins, picked up my cat, and carried him inside.
the garage was flooded, too. we were about an inch away from having our house flooded (new carpet and all.) the basement was 2 feet deep in water.
everything is drying out now; there's no standing water anywhere on the property (except for the pool, but ... duh.) and my room is opened up to start airing out. now it's time to start pumping all of the dirty water out of the pool so it doesn't stain the bottom.
yay.
