I've sent in my resume to at least 20 postings in the past month, and a total of two humans have responded. Needless to say, I was really surprised when I got one today. I was even more surprised when the response read:
"Thanks for replying to our ad for a digital content coordinator. Let me tell you a little about our company and about the job. ____ Productions has been in business in the Los Angeles area for more than 10 years. We sell adult content-digital downloads and dvds. We are extremely nice people, not at all “sleazy”. Our office environment is very professional, respectful and respectable. Currently, we are focusing on making our older content available on the web and are shooting very little new material. The job about which you inquired will be based entirely in the office and WILL NOT involve working on any video shoots. If you do not wish to work with adult material, we respect that and ask that you read no further. If, however, you are open to working with it and want a good job with a growing company, please read on…
_____ Productions has survived for a long time in an extremely competitive market because of our commitment to customer service and our enormous library of content. We sell mostly softcore fetish videos, although, in recent years, we have begun to offer some hardcore all-female videos. There is no male nudity in any of our content. ...etc etc."
Even more needless to say... I responded immediately with the utmost enthusiasm and a request for an interview.
Thank you, Craigslist, for making my day.
