(no subject)
So since I last updated, my house lost the odor of cat urine that my predecessor left behind. If fact, it smells like fresh paint and new carpet ... which is exactly what it should smell like. It's been a fresh change. I also have new furniture from Ikea that is (a) comfortable and (b) doesn't smell like cat pee.
The DCI season is over. It was the best season ever to be a fan. For the second year in a row, a member of the Greenhouse Effect picked up a ring. Phantom Regiment got second place for the first time since the New World show in 1989. (And yeah, they won in 1996 too.) It's a good statement of the quality of the products this year when I was highly entertained by the 18th place show. I dipped into the Division II waters for the first time, and saw great things from the top five there ... especially the Academy. Wow. They're great. I can't wait for next summer.
Southerners starts on Wednesday. I can't say I'm excited about it ... yet. Maybe my mind will change as more people trickle into town. As for now, I'm going to go practice a little more and perhaps head to a celebration of sorts this evening.
