like oh my god, it's my birthday!
i hate birthdays and this is one will be no exception. the only positive thing about it is that it falls on a friday.
mom requested my presence at macaroni grill so i think i'll go. it's one of the only places one can get a really good vegetarian italian meal from a chain, though, i will say that my own cooking is alot better (ease up on the olive oil macaroni punks).
i went to publix tonight to get hummus but everything had corn syrup and preservatives in it so i just got a big jar of organic tahini and a couple cans of chick peas (and a few lemons, ahem) and decided to make my own when i got home. i needed the pepper mill from the old house so i stopped by there and ended up going through the cabinets and seperating all of my spices from moms, which quickly grew from a handful to a large box full. so, by the time i got home it was 11:30'ish and i was so hungry that i just ate a bowl of wheaties and made a small salad (there is a reason fast food chains do not offer that combo).
oh! i made my *first* fire in the fireplace tonight so i'm all giddy (and warm). the chimney cleaner guy came today and before he started the chimney sweeping (no he didn't sing the mary poppins song), he said i probably could have made a fire and been fine. THEN! after he started he was like 'whoa.. it's probably a very good idea that you waited to get it cleaned'. hahah.. so anyway, im glad i didn't burn down my house.
