Having heard of the melons, Celice arrived at this patch on horseback. From what he could gather from the people around town, these melons had some sort of trick to breaking them. Celice ordered his horse to stay put, dismounted, drew his sword, and brought it down on Blue 1.

The sword simply stopped at the rind and went no further as the blue-skinned melon only shifted in the ground from the blow. Not even a scratch.

"Slashes don't seem to be working..." Celice muttered under his breath. "But other attacks might!" With that, he grabbed the melon, chucked it into the air, and jumped up after it, aiming to stab clear through it.

The melon rather than being impaled just was knocked from the air by the sword strike and hit the ground with a heavy thud. Once more the sword seemed rather effective and the melon, if it had eyes, would like be looking up at him impassively where it landed as if to ask "what now?"

Celice backed up several paces. He then launched himself forward, catching the melon with an upward motion. He leaped up and back, landed, charged again, and struck the melon up into the air again. As the melon came down, Celice unleashed a lightning-quick flurry of slashes and stabs, and finished off with a final strike that carried him up into the air.

(( OOC: Meant to write "ineffective up there, sorry >.>;; ))

The melon despite the impressive display of swordmanship did little else but drop to the ground once more as the man finished.

It would clap. If it had hands.

Celice sighed. Oh well, this was part of the reason why he had come on horseback. He mounted his horse and directed it to stomp on one of each of the four colors of melons.

Even horse hooves were proving ineffective. Each melon sat simply in the dirt and just stayed there, whole as ever.
