The vast forest west of town breaks into a clearing. It's not a small clearing, some stray beam of holiness in a dark and damp jungle, but a large opening, about the size of the town. Being extremely flat, it's easy to see that it's not the forest's edge -- the same forest surrounds it completely on every side. And there's something else easy to ( Read more... )

Spurred on by his usual vague curiosity, the Anti-Spiral stepped into the patch. He watched the others struggle without success for a fair amount of time, then extended his arm toward Green 1; the arm grew in length, but the Anti-Spiral's body did not follow. The arm simply grew longer and longer.

After gripping Green 1, he threw it without comment toward Laharl, where it was on course to hit him in the face.

Ohdear.

Well. Melon was waiting to see if it'd hit Laharl or not.

It did.

Laharl grabbed Red 4, Green 4, and, with his cape, Rainbow 5, and launched them at the Anti-Spiral in retaliation.

The melons zipped through the air, quite enjoying themselves.

The Anti-Spiral proceeded to dodge Red 4.

Green 4 and Rainbow 5, however, he caught, then threw back at Lahal.

The Anti-Spiral, too, was enjoying himself.

Laharl wasn't. He deflected them with his cape before entirely forgetting the melons, firing another Overlord's Wrath at the weird squiggly bastard.

Little did Laharl know that the Anti-Spiral was physically intangible. It's a good thing, too, because he wouldn't actually enjoy prison all too much.

The attack seemed effective, with little bits of the Anti-Spiral flying around and whatnot. Seconds later, though, the Anti-Spiral walked out from behind a nearby tree and back into the melon patch, body completely intact.

He then stared at Laharl blankly.

Laharl was more than slightly surprised. His policy with things he wanted to kill but couldn't dictated that he now stomp away without another word, applying both to the damn melons and the weirdo.
