1.What did you do in 2006 that you'd never done before?
I gave myself permission to, free of guilt: relax, do things imperfectly, and not try to do everything. Also, I went to Puerto Rico with Dan in May!
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
I don't remember them, and yes, my resolutions this year are:
1. Work your ass off/go with the flow (and know which mantra is appropriate when)
2. Train for and finish my first
half-marathon 3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
I don't think so...
4. Did anyone close to you die?
My Grampa in May...and I wasn't really that close to my aunt, but she passed away too, a few months before he did.
5. What countries did you visit
PR doesn't really count, but other than that I didn't leave the lower 48...
6. What would you like to have in 2007 that you lacked in 2006?
More female friends to do frivolous girly things with...The volition/time to keep a regular fitness schedule, versus going hard for a few weeks and then slacking off for a few...Umm, a horse
7. What date from 2006 will remain etched upon your memory?
Stupid as it may sound, the day I cancelled my housing for spring semester at school - it was the final, concrete step towards going to Nepal
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
When I was a freshman I decided to challenge myself to keep my GPA above a 3.5 throughout college, and I'm still doing it. Yay!
9. What was your biggest failure?
Having a shitty attitude about psych stats, and mistaking my difficulty with it for stupidity
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I had a quite healthy year, thank goodness, though I did have a huge enlarged/infected salivary gland for a while (until I passed a stone out of it, yum)
11. What was the best thing you bought?
I didn't spend a ton of money this year, but when I did it was on awesome experiences with people: my trip with Dan, nice wine, bowling and movies and dinners out with awesome people...
12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My little brother, who bounced back from a tough junior year with amazing grades in crazy AP science classes, played the lead in the fall theatre production, and designed a crapload of video games, of course.
13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
The majority of politicians
14. Where did most of your money go?
Did you even have to ask? 15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Nepal/a semester away from Ithaca!
16. What song will always remind you of 2006?
Any of Bach's cello suites, which Jessie loves and played often in our suite.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you
i. happier or sadder?
I feel sadder/ambivalent more often because I've been thinking a lot lately about life/society/culture/politics lately, but these things aside I think I am about the same, or happier.
ii. thinner or fatter?
A little fatter, but fitter.
iii. richer or poorer?
Haha, until I'm done w/school I will just keep getting poorer and poorer...
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Statistics homework, conversing/hanging out with people around the dorm, meeting new people
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Criticizing other people and myself (whether I voiced it or not), procrastinating on the computer
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
I spent Christmas morning at home with the family, and the rest of the day at my aunt's house in MA with my mom and dad, 2 aunts, cousins, cousin's fiancee, and Mamie.
21. How will you be spending New Year's Eve?
I spent it watching Snakes on a Plan with Dan and his parents, drinking wine, and eating ice cream! :oP

All over again :o)

Zero

Tie between Arrested Development and Weeds
25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No, there are certainly people I dislike/who don't bring out the best in me, but I try not to "hate" anyone

The Streets, Apples in Stereo

A full, rich, and (mostly) productive year

A ponyyy

I loved "Wordplay" and "Spellbound" and "Layer Cake", but those are just the first 3 I remembered...
31. What did you do on your birthday?
Brought cupcakes to Nepali, went out to dinner at Lost Dog, ate more cupcakes, and drank wine!
32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
A horse :oP
33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2006?
Attempts (with varying levels of success) to look fashionable instead of, well, like a college student
34. What kept you sane?
Dan, friends from school and home, family, running, riding
35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
I'm sooo excited that Deval Patrick got elected in MA!
36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Abortion/South Dakota; The number of states banning/trying to ban gay marriage; Holier-than-thou proponents of crap "science"

Anyone who knows it's "whom"...
38. Who was the best new person you met?
Christine, Ana, and the awesome Cornell Nepali community (and friends)
