So we just finished a project in Fundimentals class about the basic principles of design. With that out of the way, but in keeping with our "basics of design" motif, Bobby-Joe (our teacher, isn't that the best name ever?) wants us to go around Chicago sketching architechtural elements and morphing them all into one absteract piece. Ugh. So we got into class today and that's basically what he said and let us out earily to go sketch. Now, my classes are three hours long, and Funidmentals goes from 8:30 - 11:00. He let us out at nine, and our next class isn't until 11:45. So, being good art stuends, what did we do?
Hoppped the subway to Chinatown. We didn't sketch jack, we just ran around Chinatown being idiots on the train. It was awesome.
I'll probably go around sketching tomorrow, there's some parks and historic hotels on my block that I'll take a gander at. And I usually like to walk around on the weekends, gives me a better idea of where I am and I get more used to the city.
