Car talk

Anyone here know stuff about cars? Any chance I could pretend like my radiator (not covered under the warranty on my car) issues are really transmission (which *is* covered under the warranty) issues? It seems someone fucked up repairs a while ago on the transmission lines, which are supposed to cycle transmission fluid through the radiator, and connected them to each other.

I just got back from the very friendly, helpful garage around the corner where I found out about this bit of automotive wizardry, and the guy told me that he thinks -- conservatively -- the repairs will run about $250ish. It wouldn't kill me to pay it, but I'd rather not if I can get the mechanic where I bought the damn car to fix it as a transmission problem -- which it will become if I don't take care of it.

I will also need to go ballistic on the car lot guys because when I bought the car they told me (granted, I never got it in writing -- but the guy at the garage said an oral agreement should be the same) they'd fix the A/C, but they didn't. I don't have time to drive out to the lot in Red Hook except on weekends, and even then it's not really a given, so I've been putting that off. I was going to just pay to have it done near me today, but the guy at the garage told me I may be looking at close to $1,500 worth of work in a worst case scenario. No way do I have that kind of money for something that was supposed to be fixed before I ever got this car.

money, car
