I really need to get this off my chest, i don't know why i'm so affected by it.
All along, i was a Pro PAP, i recognized all that they have done for our country, i respect them, and i salute them for it.
But the fact is, the founders of Singapore are hardly the ones who are in PAP now.
I mean, yes, we still have Mr Lee Kwan Yew, and maybe Mr Goh Chok Tong, but the rest are almost all not around already, and not all of them were in the PAP.
The party name remains the same, but the members are different.
I am not really a supporter of any opposition parties, but i do admit that there are several really excellent opposition candidates around.
Some of the PAP members have really let the success of their party get to their head.
Are you really serving Singapore and her citizens? Or are you serving yourselves???
People like Mr Chaim See Tong, he fought a lone and hard battle in the Parliament.
I don't think he feels like he has succeeded in what he has been fighting for, but the people definitely begs to differ.
His loyalty and his love for the people is NOT to be questioned.
PAP refused to give him a proper office to fulfill his duties in Potong Pasir, and he set up a cubicle for it under a void deck.

And what does PM Lee have to say? In the pap manifesto -

if you're not going to help me just because i voted for the opposition, then i pay tax to you for what! Who pays your ministers' salaries??
Yes, in reality i vote for the opposition, so i cannot expect the same treatment.
But the thing is, Singapore has the 10th biggest reserves in the WORLD.
Your ministers get paid $16 000 EVERY MONTH,
and you don't even want to help the people by building a simple office?
I too, don't believe that upgrading should be a "carrot" for voters to pick you. Everybody pays tax, why shouldn't my area deserve to get upgraded too? HBD houses, I can understand why prices are going up. Yes, there is a shortage of land in Singapore. But then, as the government, shouldnt you be the one to help? Especially since you are asking us to have more babies. Why would I even want to have babies when I can't even afford a house? It's really not as simple as "Singaporeans are too busy to have sex".
Yes, there are some good policies, you have kept us safe, but some issues, you really have crossed the line.
I don't want to see PAP thrown out of parliament, I just want to see someone " slap the driver awake when he veers off course". When they get too ridiculous with ministers' bonuses, when they intend to increase the GST to 11% when they couldn't even tell us what they did with the millions of dollars earned from the 7% GST hike. Help the poor? Ya right. Do you now see the need for more opposition voices in the parliament??
Yes, the PAP has good people who dedicate their lives to the people. Mr George Yeo for example. I know. I understand that no government is perfect, and by standards, ours is counted as one of the best. But because so many of us are in the sandwich class, we cant really see how these policies are affecting the lower class. We think that everything has been fine so far, why should we capsize our own boat? I believe we need the devil's advocate in parliament, if not how do we expect them to really strive for the best instead of being contented with current achievements?
But of course i'm not saying vote for any cha pa lang opp party la, walao, the suggestion of turning HDB roof tops into farms is a serious waste of money. THEN BIRD FLU COME BACK HOW? YOU KILL ALL THE CHICKENS AH?
Use the money for better ideas lah! How do you expect people to vote for you.
If you really have the interests of Singapore at heart, don't just help us because we voted for you.
Help us, because you want to.
But it's okay, the elections has ended. I hope the PAP really did listen and deliver the promises!
