where have the rains gone
to wash away the unwanted layers
and nourish us once again
the clouds mock me as I lay
under the moonlit sky watching them
as they pass us by
not leaving a single drop
the high winds carry them off
over other plains
a single tear is not enough
to give the world a shred of hope
when will it rain again
can it be that there is
a one true sun that shall become
my only source of nourishment
to carry me from day to day
drinking from it's warmth
and within its comfort
or does the future hold
a bleak grey silence that will
rush through me
and will I greet it with open arms
casting aside my umbrella
and drowning in wet splendor
the clouds may blanket the sky
but the sun will still be there waiting
to always keep me warm and dry
