Well, that's it. I'm 18, as of... five hours ago. :) Legally an adult and all that jazz.
It's... kinda strange, I suppose. I don't really feel any different (does any ever?), except for - I don't know, more grown up, maybe? More responsible, more serious - *snort* - okay, maybe not more serious. :P
My family has never really been big celebrators on our own; I've never had a birthday party, for instance. At least not since I was very young. Though, that stems basically from no money and no friends. *shrug* Not that I think I'd really want one anyhow - all that attention on me. It's unnerving.
So I haven't really done anything today. Just got back from vacation two days ago on Sunday, and have lazed about and worked on putting the house back into order. Today I woke up late and... have pretty much not done anything except talk to Mou and play my piano (goodness, how I missed it), and showered and counted mah money. :P I'm currently sitting, waiting for mom to exit the bathroom so we can go rent some movies and get some pizza and ice cream, my chosen birthday cousine. :P
*sigh* I didn't really have any expectations for this birthday, just because. Was focused on Colorado trip, and then on getting home. Couldn't be worse than my last two birthdays, which honestly rather sucked. My 16th was spent on a bus to camp and my 17th was two weeks after my dad left and we ended up staying in Dallas at my aunt's house where I read my little cousin's copies of two Harry Potter books (because I didn't want to buy them but wanted to know what they contained) until my eyes swam. So this one was much better. :P
:S Though I could call it... tainted. I woke up to a text message from my dad, thinking that it was a text from my beloved Mouvre; it said things like 'happy birthday, I love you,' etc, and only when I saw it signed 'Dad' did I realize that it was not, in fact, from my BFF, and my sleepy happiness promptly faded. *sigh* Then I got up and he sent me an email while I was sitting here, telling me that he was sending me a package and
