That awkward moment when inspiration strikes at 2am and you can't do anything about it
These are the times I wish I had a midi keyboard, or at least a keyboard with an earphone plug.
Whenever I feel like playing something by ear, I have to do it on our upright piano. Normally I'd love doing it on that because I do have an attachment to that piano. But when everyone else in the house is asleep I can't afford to use it because it'll wake everyone up. :| I know I could just try playing the notes with a virtual keyboard and then transcribe it with the notation software I use, but it's just not the same. :(
And of all the songs I had the urge to try playing, it just had to be Nino's latest solo. I'm scared, really, because it's such a lovely song and I feel that my attempt to play and transcribe it won't do it justice. I've never been this apprehensive about trying to play a song until now.
