(I composed this entry using the Notes utility of my cellphone at around 11pm. I noticed that I have the tendency to make better decisions when I’m about to sleep.)
TL;DR version: I’m not watching Gantz during my trip to Singapore. There are more important things for me to do.
Long version: For days I have been concerned about whether or not I’ll be able to catch Gantz on the big screen during my trip to Singapore. I’ve been doing my research on commuting routes to Johor Bahru (the nearest Malaysian district to Singapore) in the hope that the movie will still be in cinemas during my stay. In the process, however, I’ve realized that this whole planning for the Gantz viewing is just not worth it.
Don’t get me wrong. I’d really like to support Nino and the film by watching it but the circumstances are too inconvenient for my liking. When I booked the plane tickets last December, I wasn’t even thinking of Gantz. The initial release date was more of a happy coincidence on my part, until the whole thing become uncertain and the release date was moved further and further away. :|
I planned my Singapore trip for me to relax, to spend time with friends, and most importantly to thoroughly reflect on choices that will shape my future. This move might make me less of a fangirl to some, but at this point fangirling should be the least of my priorities. It saddens me a bit that everything has come to this, but I just hope that the future would bring me more opportunities to legitimately fangirl over my idols. :)
To my fangirl friends especially
dekya, I'm sorry for letting you down somehow. I hope you understand why I decided on this.
