write as all the characters!

May 07, 2012 18:40

This is based off of a FYRPR meme which said that the [meme suggestor] wrote letters in his partner's ask box anonymously for their birthday, from the characters they played as! So of course I saw it as a great idea and took it upon myself to do the same! :D

You find on your bed a stack of letters. Most are of similar sizes, though there’s one rather larger than the other and a few with pretty ribbons tied around them, most in a clear lavender. As you enter, dropping off your bag of stuff in its usual spot and taking out the box of sushi your friends bought for you today, you sit down on your bed and prepare to read them.

After taking a bite of your food (it’s absolutely delicious~), you open the letter on top. It is turquoise with a lighter shade of red as a ribbon wrapping around it crosswise. Your first letter is opened, and you discovered that it has been written on a blue sheet with red borders. Its colors are as loud as the person you would assume to have written it.

Dear Miss Sangome,

HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :D Today is the day that God made you, and I bet your mom and dad were so happy to meet you! I hope it’s a fun day spent with your friends! I heard that your friends would take you out for sushi, so I hope it’s delicious! (I’d make you some myself but I currently can only offer you this letter as a present! ;_; )

Thank you so much for all of my friends that you have introduced me to, like Rui, Merlee, and Linnea! They’re all so fun and I love them so much, so of course I love their Creator too! ^_^ I’ve had a lot of fun times with you and with them and I’m sure that Sarah has had fun with you too!

And regardless of who you end up with - Jade or that one other guy I’ve been hearing about recently - you know that I will ship it 100000000%!!! :D

Thank you so much for everything!

The note is signed with an unfamiliar scrawl that seems to be an attempt at something cute (the i’s are dotted with small hearts, although it seems misplaced on the name), but you are able to make out the following:

Love,

Kinome Chisaha

AKA Leafy!

Curious as to how such a letter even came into existence, but ignoring the idea of pursuing that thought further at the moment so it doesn’t ruin your birthday, you continue on through the pile of letters, wondering what to open next.

What catches your eye next is a rather pretty and slightly fanciful one, although it is simple in colors and design compared to the first one. It is a white envelope with brown ribbon, and pulling the card out, you see a very pretty picture with a generic, hallmark-style birthday poem on the outside. Inside the card is small but clear and pretty cursive writing. You notice that the card is slightly larger than the other one, but given the length of the message, you can see why it is so.

Dear Stacey,

Congratulations on turning 22! Although we have not interacted very much lately, compared to many of the others that you will find a letter from, I would like to express at how proud I am of you and how much you have grown! Although you may not think so, you have turned into a strong young woman, one who is sure of her beliefs. And in the world that you live in, being strong about your beliefs is incredibly important and difficult.

I would like to personally thank you for what impact you have had in my life. I know that you would not believe you have had any impact on my life outside any previous “incarnation”, as you may call it, but you have. It is because of you that I am able to say that I have a previous incarnation, as far as “canons” and “storylines” go. Although it may have had a negative impact on my relationship with Sarah at first, it was primarily your constant renewal of your old characters that prompted her to finally work on and revamp a biography for me that would fit at least one specific canon. I feel that if you had not done this with your own characters, I never would have gained the progression I desired. Both my husband and I are grateful.

I am running out of room on this card. I apologize for filling it with something so serious on a day as wonderful and positive as your birthday. I understand that things may be tough for you right now, but if you stick through it, and if you seek that change that you desire, you will get it. Good luck in life and many best wishes to you.

Sincerely,

Melody A. Anson.

Although you had to look on the back for the rest of the card (namely who was writing), you find that the card was definitely written with a good heart and a kind spirit. Although you may not agree that you have turned into strong young woman, the card writer certainly has, and your confidence has gone up +5! You start to feel bad for the other writers though, as you realize that this may be a tough card to follow.

Regardless of that, you are interested and curious to see what others have written to you. You pick up two cards, but a sudden draft causes most of them to fall to the floor, and the largest one to hit you in the face by accident. (Sorry!) Stunned for a minute as to how that could have happened, you try to pick up the other cards only for the large one to get in the way. If you didn’t know any better, it would seem like this card was eager to get your attention. You may as well get it out of the way now.

The card is a large purple one, one that would normally be considered a gimmick. It is larger than your laptop, let alone your head. You open it anyways, curious as to who would send you a large card. (Probably somebody who thinks they’re important.) On the outside is a picture of a rainbow on a blue sky and a green block that you suppose is meant to be grass. On it are the words “Happy Birthday” written with the fallen rainbow. You’re not quite sure what to make of its cover, so you open it to see how big of a message someone had to write you this time, only to discover it is a large, scrawling mess instead of a neat and compact letter, as well as an indeterminable picture.

To one of my many dearest fangirls, Sangome,

I was recently notified that it is your birthday already! Happy Birthday! Although I do not know your current age, for a gentleman never asks a lady her age, it was hinted to me that it was in the early twenties. A fine thing, turning 20!

Anyways, I was told to also put something personal in this letter, so I suppose I should thank you for Cassandra-even if she scares me sometimes with her guns. (You can almost see the expression on the author’s face: ;>_> ) She has been a fine friend for hunting Suicune with, and her companionship has helped me greatly during my days chasing after it. If it weren’t for you, I would probably still be alone on these trips.

For you, I have included in this birthday card one free drawing of Suicune. There is no need to pay me back for it. (Although scratched out and then erased, you can make out the original writing which says, “well, maybe you can make Cassandra less scary whenever she thinks I don’t care about her.”)

Once again, Happy Birthday!

From your ever grateful object of worship praise

Eusine

(PS- Eusine is full of himself, Stace. I crossed out several things in here that didn’t need to be added - xo Cassandra)

The letter got messier as you continued along, and you can sense that something seemed odd with its tone, but when you realized who the card-writer was, it didn’t matter anymore. You were too busy trying not to laugh at the card and what was crossed out, particularly when Cassandra seemed to somehow get ahold of it. The change in writing style was hidden between the mountainous scrawl that was Eusine’s.

You shake your head and put that card away, particularly between two tall and weighted objects so the card wouldn’t hit you in the face again. You turn back to your bed and pick up the other cards that had fallen, placing them back on the bed. Then you pick out one of the completely plain envelopes, open it, and proceed to read the note inside.

Happy Birthday, Sangome

Although I know that you and I have never really gotten along very well, I still felt the need to send you a birthday card (especially since Leaf had already sealed hers before she told me about your birthday). I hope that you enjoy your birthday, and that my girlfriend did not send you the physical equivalent of spam mail. May your day be full of fun and laughter, and that you find yourself surrounded by friends.

Sincerely

Joey Shekker

Although you are not too surprised to see a card from Joey (had you known who to expect in this pile of cards, you would have expected to see his message shared on Leaf’s card), it is still nice to see one from him.

You pick out another card from this pile that also has the same envelope description as above and read the card inside.

Dear Stacey,

I would like to sincerely wish you a Happy Birthday on today. As my wife has already noted in her card, a lot is owed to you from us. I will not write more on it here, as I am sure that my wife has written more than enough. May you find your special day bright and each day a sign of how much your friends love you.

You are a very positive and smart young woman. Though we may have never communicated to each other, I have seen numerous times examples of this. You have also been a positive influence on Sarah, as you and your mutual friends have helped her learn more about character development, progress, and change, and have helped shaped her into the person she is today. You have been a great friend to her where many of us are not able to be. I hope that she will find the time to tell you how much you mean to her. You are a loving, caring, and respectful person. I can see why she views you as a sister.

Please know that if you ever need anything, please feel free to talk to any of us, my wife and I included.

Sincerely,

Lance Anson

Although you still aren’t quite sure what exactly has prompted the Ansons to write to you so meaningfully, you can see quite clearly how much your life has made an impact on someone you aren’t intimate with.

The next envelope you pick up is a little one, about the size of a business card, if not a little bigger. When you see who the card is from, you are tempted to dispose of it.

Hey. I know you don’t like me, but I’m still going to wish you a happy birthday. -Silver

There’s not much else to say about that one. We’re almost sorry that ended up in there, but at least he was polite…

Moving on, your next card is a folded up picture, which looks like chicken scratch. You wonder if a toddler drew it, though you are not familiar with any toddlers. (You also jokingly muse to yourself if it is another card or drawing that Eusine sent you.) Although you cannot make any sense of the picture, you look around for some words. On the back you spy Leaf’s scrawl, which says,

“Raiga saw me working on my card for you and wanted to help, so she drew you this picture! I hope you like it! - Leaf (PS- I’m not really sure what it’s supposed to be… But it’s the thought that counts, right? ^^)”

Even the Pokémon were wishing you a happy birthday!

Your next card is of normal size once more, and you find the cover to have some sort of sport birthday pun to it. Inside is a female’s hurried writing.

Dear Sangome,

Hey, I know we’ve never met before, but I’ve heard only good things about you and you seem like a pretty great person. Happy birthday to you! I hope you enjoy it. I can’t wait to get to meet your players of the MMO The World someday-They look like really interesting people to meet!

--Haley//Shineva

It seems that even people whom you’ve never heard of or even met have also sent you cards, including your next one!

To Miss Sangome:

First off, Happy Birthday! This is a very wonderful day and I hope you enjoy it! From what I understand and have seen, you deserve it! J

Second, I would like to tell you that I absolutely love your designs, girl. You are rockin’ the fashion world! Maybe someday I could commission you to make me some personalized outfits? =D Or maybe even a dress for my little girl would be neat! Either way, never stop designing-it’s helping me add more clothes to my wardrobe.

My sisters and brothers-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews, and husband also wish you a happy birthday! I don’t know if they’ll send you their own cards (you’ll be lucky to get anything out of my older sister Sakamoto), so I’m letting you know here that there’s more people who want to wish you a happy birthday!

Best wishes and I’m hoping for a lot of love to be sent your way!

Hamano Kurogawa

(It used to be Chiaki, if you aren’t familiar with the last name!)

You’ve always prided yourself on your knack for design, but it’s always great to hear it mentioned, especially by people who love fashion. You find a few more cards from people who you think are relatives of Hamano, as they mention her telling them about your designs and mentioning that your birthday was coming up. It’s pretty cool that all these people that are practically strangers are writing, right?

The last letter you come across is in a mauve envelope. It is on the slightly larger end of the normal sized card spectrum, but no larger than Melody’s. The cover features a rather beautiful golden sunset over a familiar town, although you don’t recognize it from any place you’ve been to. The town is of old Japanese style, with shingles on the connecting roofs and a tall tower that can be seen in the background. Suddenly, it hits you what place this is, and you blush, hastily opening the envelope in hopes that you don’t end up in a fangirlish gigglefit. Although the words may seem at first familiar (you suspect laziness on part of who put all these letters on your bed), it is cherishable nevertheless. In a small, hasty, and somehow adorable, script, you see these words:

Dear Stacey,

Although I have known you for only two and a half years now, you have shown yourself to be an incredibly intelligent, beautiful, and strong person. I know that you sometimes do not feel like any of these, but you are. You are kind, loyal, witty, trustworthy, and loving to your friends. You show yourself to be incredibly compassionate and sympathetic. You have a good head on your shoulders and a sense of humor. You are all of these, more than you give yourself credit for or will ever be aware of.

As I am sure some of the others have already said in their letters, you have had a positive impact on the lives of your friends, including Sarah’s. Now, I’ll not do her job and tell you precisely how, but we can all verify that your appearance in her life has more influence than you may initially think, and that is it a most needed influence.

Stacey, never doubt that you are unloved or unwanted in this world. Your friends, whether you count us fictitious creations or choose not, will always love you and be willing to talk you through any of your problems. You are not a burden on anyone. You are worth something to each and every individual you meet. Whether you choose to see this is up to you. I sincerely hope that you choose to see it, as it will make all of our lives easier. ;)

Lastly, I hope that you are treating my wife and daughter well. I am sure that they, too, also wish you a happy birthday and want to send you many warm wishes as well.

Sincerely,

Morty Matsuba

Somehow, you managed to maintain your fangirlish glee all the way through the end. Now, there are no more cards left on your bed, not even from the one who you suspect compiled everything together. How dare she do that! But of course, as always, she manages to send you something eventually to let you know that she cares, so you know that in due time you’ll receive what you know to expect from her eventually. : )

HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVE.
