Happenings

So for all who didn't hear, I got accepted into a Kansas City medical program... so I'll be moving in the fall. Well, I technically haven't payed my acceptance fees yet, but I'm pretty much set on going there. Unless something huge changes, I really expect to be in Missouri in the fall. I still haven't heard anything from IU, and am caring less and less.

I feel very strongly that things work out exactly as they are supposed to, especially if you rely on God to guide the path. I was given an opportunity to go to this school last year for a degree that would put me in the D.O. program starting this fall, and I turned it down. Now I've been given a second chance at this, and I know it would be foolish to turn it down again.

I also feel like my interview experiences represented the way I view the schools. My IU interview was rainy and gross, the whole day was unorganized and somewhat boring, and we were herded around like cattle. At KCUMB, the weather was beautiful, everyone was welcoming and friendly, they treated all of us like they were happy to have us there, and everything about the day was organized and informative. They were polar opposites, and I know that's how it was supposed to appear. I know someone else could have interviewed at both schools and had a completely different experience.

Regardless of how sure I am that I'm going where I should be going, it's scary beyond belief to know that in a few months, I will move and start a completely different chapter in my life. I've been cruising along here at home for 2 years now, and it's a lot to wrap my head around, but I'm excited.

Other than that, work is fine. We're figuring out how to phase my job onto other people without overwhelming anyone. Family's doing well. We went to Dayton, OH on Saturday to see the drumline nationals since it was Whitney's last worldline performance.

Sunday I saw Ryan for a couple hours because he spent the weekend with some friends in Indy. I hadn't expected to see him, so it was a very pleasant surprise.

Now this week, I have a lot of planning to do, for myself and others, and organizing my brain for summer graduations, weddings, traveling, etc.
