Reading Question

I have a neighbor whose 8 year old daughter is incredibly smart & soaking up every book she can get her hands on. So far the mother has only allowed 5th grade or lower level reading to avoid accidentally exposing the girl to content that's inappropriate for an 8 year old. She asked my mom if we knew of any books that the girl could read, and if there are any that might pose more of a challenge without being inappropriate. The only specific request right now is no sexual content due to her age.

Any suggestions?

So far my sisters & I have listed off a few that we enjoyed, not all a challenge, but something different if she hasn't gotten through them already:
