so wait...did that quiz include kerry's original statements? or the ones that contradict those original statements? or were they the statements from when he contradicted the contradictions? maybe i'll have to take it myself...haha

I may be naive and ignorant or hard of hearing or something...

But I watched all the presidential debates and I'm writing a report on Kerry, and I can't recall a time when he absolutely contradicted himself...

...idunno... NEVER.

He may not be very definite in his decisions but I feel it's because he's actually thinking about different possibilities. It worries me that Bush is ALWAYS the same, rarely adapting to different situations (or even admitting he was wrong when new evidence presents itself). The world to me has many shades of gray, and I think Kerry understands how to compensate for all the hues....

Maybe you could show me how exactly he flip flops? Not that I can or would take my vote back ;) ... but it might help me on my paper! :D

he doesnt contradict himself within a matter of minutes or anything like that. it's happened over a period of time. he was for the war and now says it's the wrong war, he voted against tax cuts and now promises all kinds of impossible tax cuts, he suspected iraq had weapons of mass destruction and now says that the president misled us...etc. etc....and here's my favorite. there is footage(if i can find a link i'll post it here) of john kerry standing on a stage with people he fought with in vietnam. he talked about how heroic they were and what an honor it was to fight with them. now he's running for president, and he says those same people acted like animals during the war..raping women and burning villages.

kerry offers the american people what they want, and that is just not realistic. he tells people what they want to hear when they want to hear it, and that is why so many are voting for him today and why he has a very good chance of winning.

he suspected iraq had weapons of mass destruction and now says that the president misled uskeep in mind that bush did the same thing... first we went to war because iraq had something to do with al qaeda... except that turned out to be false. then it was because iraq had wmds... which also turned out to be false. now its just because its the 'right thing to do', which cant really be argued against, except in that to stay consistent we are going to have to do the same thing to all of the other countries that are as bad or worse than iraq, and anyone who thinks that can be done without a draft is kidding themselves. the only thing bush has been consistent about is that we need to be fighting iraq, and at this point lots of people are starting to think that the reasoning behind that might not have been as clear cut as was originally thought. personally, id rather have a president who can make a decision, realize that he is wrong, and make a better decision based on new knowledge than one who is consistent, but consistently wrong (i mean ( ... )

i agree with all your points about the war. personally, i'm against it. i like what it could achieve, but i dont think we were properly informed about the reason for it.

i'd also like to point out that the only people who have tried to pass legislation that would bring back the draft were democrats. and i'm not trying to take a cheap shot at democrats or anything..i am a democrat :-)

also, bush isnt "wrong" about the gay marriage issue. i strongly disagree with his views, but no one is right or wrong when it comes to that issue. it's all based on opinion and beliefs. plus, i dont think we'll ever have to worry about a ridiculous amendment like that being passed anyway.

you know, i'm gonna stop now..its election day..its almost over..i just realized i dont give a rats ass about arguing anymore. haha...i respect everyone's thoughts and i think its great that young people like us care so much about this election. but i'm just way too sick of it and i'm so glad it's almost over

(by the way, no matter what happens, i still love you
