My dad was kind enough to let J and I store the majority of our belongings in a mostly empty storage container he has on his land for his business. Inside were just some truck tires, a snowmobile, someone's mattress set, and some random little stuff, but still plenty of room for us. And since our stuff is only staying for 3 weeks, it didn't seem like a big deal to kind of bury other people's things, most of which also belongs to members of my family.
I happened to make a comment to my brother last weekend about how my dad said it was empty, but there was random crap in there, assuming it was mostly his fault. Then he said, "did you notice the other mattress is gone?" Umm, no I didn't, because it's not gone. I set something on top of it yesterday. Long story short: The person who had been storing a mattress there for the past 10 months decided to pick up their mattress the day after I put mine in there and TOOK MINE!!! After 2 days of trying to contact this person she finally called back, spoke to my father, and implied that mine was the only mattress set in there. It wasn't. In fact, her mattress set was RIGHT NEXT TO MINE. Well, with a few things in between, but still. Visible when you open the door. She then went on with some sob story about how her truck was broken down, so she couldn't bring mine back, and she had just put it up in the spare room and hadn't even set it up and blah blah. So now I have to go get her bed set, take it to her and pick mine up. ARGH!! I am, however, happy we're getting our bed back.
