I really, really hate making phone calls. Even to order pizza. The phone and me, we're not friends.

My boss is out of the office today and it's really, really, really hard to make myself focus on doing work. There's a book in my purse I could be reading, and there's Christmas shopping to do!!

My boss will probably come back any second now and see the piles of files on my desk with nothing done...

I made up with that twitty boy today. My friend talked me off the ledge, I invited him to meet my SF bff who will be here on Friday, and then there was some back in forth on email. I, erm, feel a bit like an asshole but he also had to get checked in what is an appropriate joke!

I'm glad you made up, and I'm even more glad you taught him what an appropriate joke is.

It's good to have friends that can talk you down. I spent yesterday talking my friend down from war with her inlaws :)

Another funny thing is that since my boss is in Court all day, the rest of the office showed up in jeans and at least 10 minute late. We're total opportunists.

if the partners are out, we're cleared out of here exactly 3 minutes after the secretaries.

if the partners are here . . . give it 30 minutes after they leave.

We still have to be here, even when he's not, which is totally LAME. He's obsessed with having at least one of us here to answer the phones, even if all we tell people is "I can't help you and I can't give legal advice." More often than not, he's the one calling in. Especially if he's in a trial. The worst is when he calls and says, "I'll be there in 10 minutes" Well, that's better than when he just shows up.

oh, phones have to be covered at all times, but when the partners are out we can leave by 6 which is so !!!

and I use to have when my boss would call to say she was on the way, but surprises are even worse.
