things!
J5 made a turkey last night and it was DELICIOUS. He also made stuffing, mashed potatoes and corn. This was both of our first times making gravy, and I think it came out pretty good, if I do say so myself :) He also invited his friend and his girlfriend over, I had only met her once before, but I like her well enough. I have high expectations for who dates his best friend, so I'm hoping she'll meet those expectations :)
I think I've mentioned this before, but J5's best friend was the first boy I ever kissed. I gave him a kiss on the cheek on the bus in first grade. We actually joke about that a lot now, and I sometimes refer to them as "first" and "last".
J5 is rebuilding my '68 VW Bug for me! Again, I might have mentioned that before, I should probably read my own posts. Anyway, work is actually getting started on it and I'm sooo excited! I stayed home sick from work on Tuesday and slept most of the day, but we spent the afternoon looking through VW magazines I had collected a few years ago to get ideas for how we want it to look. It's possible I now have too many ideas. I think I'm going with black and red for the paint job and interior, and I even found a website where I can custom order black & red interior door panels! Hooray! There's still a lot of decisions to be done, but I think we'll get some of the body work done this weekend and I ordered some pieces of steel that need to be welded on to replace sections that have big dents in them. Fun! I can't wait for the car to run again! I'm even thinking of creating a blog to update people on the progress. I kind of wish all of this could have happened while my grandfather was alive, since he's the one who gave me the car, but as long it's happening at all, I'm happy.
For a Friday, today hasn't been half bad at work. I'm sure the afternoon will get worse because I said that, but what can you do?
I think I'm getting my cold back again :( I'm tired of being sick, but at least it's not the worst cold ever. I was so excited that I felt so much better after my sick day the other day, and that the sick day served it's desired purpose, and today I woke up sick all over again. I think my niece passed the cold back to me.
