And talked about the future. Because lately I've been considering programs for grad school. Which is kind of dumb because I'm only a sophomore but A) you can never be too careful and B) I actually get to choose unlike how I did for undergrad. So here's my plan so far and my ~choices~ of what to do next.
THINGS DONE:
-Graduate high school without dying (hurray!)
-Make it through a year and a half of college without dying (also yay!)
-Declare a history major!
THINGS IN THE FUTURE:
-Change minor to Latin American Studies (NO ONE TOLD ME WE HAD A LA STUDIES MINOR UNTIL LIKE TWO DAYS AGO come on ODU you guys are slackin'. 8( This was what I wanted to do in the first place. )
-That means the following: reading fluency in Portuguese and Spanish by the end of the program (!), one politics course, one history course and one geography course.
-STUDY ABROAD IN ARGENTINA JUST IN TIME TO CHANGE MINOR. WOO HOO. \O/
-Possible course list in Argentina: Tango: The Expression of Buenos Aires (Spanish), Advanced Spanish, Portuguese, US-Latin American Relations. (English.)
-Grad School -> Doctorate??
-University of Texas, University of California at Berkeley, University of Kentucky.
>End goal: Get as far away from Virginia as humanly possible (oh and get a degree)
I want to get into all of these schools. My GPA's a 3.7 atm. UT's a given, since my grandpa used to be the Dean of Sciences there. The only real question is which of these schools is going to give me a teaching fellowship-internship job. :I Locationwise, Berkeley is my top choice, but program wise, it's UT all the way.
Urgh. I wish they could just merge together. UT's program in Berkeley's campus. That would be perfect. ;; It's kind of silly of me to be doing this right now, I had way too much sangria with dinner and my head's pounding.
real life is hard sierra
