Stupid Mother at Work
While at work today, my assistant and I were asked to look through the store for an empty basket with a 9 month old in it. We sort of looked at the Supervisor for a moment before we saw the distraught mother behind him, almost in tears.
Apparently, she had been shopping with her child and grabbed an item, left the store and then suddenly realized she had completely forgotten about her daughter! So, we go searching the entire warehouse for this missing child...
Meanwhile... two women in the back apparently found the child unattended and handed the little girl over to our employee in the back of the store. So, he waited around for a couple of minutes before walking to the front with the little girl to turn her in and find out who her mother was (call the athorities and such).
Anyway, we return to the front and find out that she was found. Afterwards, a group of us (4 of us are mothers who all have children who are almost 9 months old) all try to figure out how a mother forgets about her child. How DOES a mother forget that she has her 9 MONTH OLD DAUGHTER with her?! Stupid Mother, maybe she should attach a leash to herself and her daughter so that it won't happen again. I know when I go shopping that I never leave my daughter alone unattended. She is, at most, an arm's length away - and even that is dangerous since someone could run by and snatch her away easily.
Anyway, I just thought I would tell you all about this stupid mother at work today. I sympathize with the little girl and wish her good luck.
