My face hit the light of day and I felt I could breathe again. I clambered out of the hole in the earth and looked around. I reached back in and pulled the girl out of the hole, she was dirty and as drenched as I was but happy to be alive and rescued. As soon as the sun hit her, the world seemed warm again. I watched as the plants around us opened up and moved towards the light radiating from her. “Thank you, thank you so much” she whispered as tears ran down her face. “It’s ok, don’t worry about it, you can run back home, I’ll wait for my partner” I told her. “What about Hades, once he notices I’m gone…” I shook my head “He and I have a special relationship, once I threaten to tell your uncle he’ll be quiet, he may be a god but Neptune just as easily make him his bitch” I laughed. Water was where I lived, there for dear triton and I got along swimmingly…pun intended.
“Oh god, how do you do this, this, manual labor?” Lukas asked crawling out of the same dirt hole I had pulled myself and callypso out of. “It’s called field work, it’s what we do when were not good little lap dog’s doing mommy’s financial paper work” I informed him “yuck, I’m not sure how much of it I can take, do you know how much that jacket cost, and the giant dog just ate it!” he yelled angrily. “That was Cerberus, and since he has three heads he’s far from a normal dog, be lucky all he ate was your coat” I laughed as I mentally teleported us back to my, well, now our apartment *shudders*
I slid out of my over uniform to cover my clothes from dirt. As I picked up my mail and walked the window I pointed at the fire place, lighting it. “Don’t sit on my couch without changing” I informed Luke as he prepared to lower himself onto the white upholstery, I hadn’t even turned around. “You sure you aren’t really a demon, or at least a day walker?” he asked. I placed my hand on the bible, said “Jesus Christ” and gripped the crucifix I wore on my neck “Um, no, pretty sure, I’m not a big fan of garlic though. But forgive me if I probably die after you drive a pointed piece of wood through my heart” I said sarcastically as I sat down.
Satchel ran over hurriedly and dove in my lap “what on earth?” then I heard the footsteps. “About time you got back, I was wondering- oh, Lukas” Troy Ramirez stepped out of my room. “Hello Troy, why are you in my apartment again?” Lukas asked. I smirked at Luke and gave a slight nod of encouragement, Troy turned and I quickly replaced my smile with one of questioning. “Your apartment? Well I’ll leave your apartment. But if you don’t mind I’ll go swim in my pool, I did pay for it when I lived here after all” Troy growled and went to walk out. “Actually, I’m gunna go do some laps, why don’t you go for a run on the beach, Tritons in an extra good mood so all the animals in the sea will be happy” I cuffed his shoulder and smiled “feel free to frolic Ariel” I laughed walking down stairs.
