Costuming 365: Back at it.

Jan 09, 2012 16:14

So, I didn't do much on this project from about Thanksgiving to about... now. But I did do a few minor things. The biggest of which I don't really want to talk about yet. I know. I'm an asshole for even mentioning it. Muwahahahahaha!

I've made lists of my ambitions for costuming in 2012 and cleared out the notes and junk for everything from previous years. Clean slate. Not worrying about what didn't get done. Just looking forward from here on out. The list still needs refining. Plus I need to find out once and for all if Chris is going to accompany me to Dragon*Con this year or not. And if so, would he wear a couple of costumes if I made them for him. If not, that's totally cool, because it leaves more costumes for me!!! *ahem* I mean... something less selfish. Really, I just want him to be comfortable. Yeah. That works.

Jonah wants to be a zombie from Stupid Zombies for Halloween. I'm trying to convince him to do Adventure Time costumes as a family though. I really just want an excuse to make a Marceline the Vampire Queen costume. ;)

But aside from that, I promised at ALEP under the influence of "Sierra Mist" that I would make Sexy Gandalf. Long beard, pointy hat... short skirt. Here is the first step in that commitment: Grey Suede Hooker Boots that will make me a towering 6'4" tall. We've all agreed that the pointy hat needs to be one of those little steampunk/lolita mini hat fascinators, perhaps with some marabou trim. Yes. It's that kind of party.

Other than that, I'm trying to look at everything on my plate and find balance. But I'm afraid the more I try to balance, the less I actually get done. I'm trying not to plunge headlong into any one thing, but I'm not sure that's really the best strategy here.

adventure time, fellowship of the wrong, marceline the vampire queen, stupid zombies, costuming 365 project, costuming, balance, super sekrit, rolling down the hole, sexy gandalf
