"the look..... of love..."
Well, last night I was treated to, well, in my opinion, the best musical experience i've ever had. Greg and myself went to see "John Foreman Presents... Burt Bacharach" at the State Theatre. Paulini, Katie Noonan, Diesel, Rikki Lee, Leo Sayer, Amy Pearson, Dallas Crane and Dean Geyer (think that's all of them) each performed a Bacharach song magnificently. In particular Katie Noonan with 'the look of love' had me spellbound from start-finish.
Before the show actually started, we got upgraded from mezzanine to the VIP area in the first few rows, so last night i was only 6 rows away from Burt Bacharach, it was an amazing interview to watch, and then he decided that he would perform himself. Hearing him play and sing "Alfie" was beautiful, brought a tear to my eye. Last night, they truly did have the cream of the Australian music crop there (and john foreman isn't too bad!! hehe), everyone involved was spectacular. The Sydney Symphonia did an amazing job with the music, and the whole performance had me amazed from start-finish (it ran till about 20 to 12, was fun coming back to the shire and getting up at 6:30! lol)
Overall, if you're a songwriter, a fan of burt bacharach or know nothing about him (shame on you, you should) watch the show when it comes on channel 10, you won't regret it. Coming up in the next few weeks on 10.
On an unrelated note, I got into uni. AGAIN. in new south wales. in particular the university of new south wales, studying science/education. I'm yet to set foot on campus though, going to head there next week to get my card and all the other business. I posted a bulletin on myspace about it, and the amount of people that came through and said "oh i go to/went to/know someone who went to UNSW" was pretty darn cool, and the amount of love i felt when i told everyone was amazing :-)
anyways, i think its bedtime again... me and a friend are heading to dead letter chorus at the brass monkey tonight, and she's staying here, so gotta make it a bit more, well, liveable here! hahaha. Hope your all well x
