I am, however going to keep track of what I'm reading this year. More out of curiosity than anything else.
So far I've finished: The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold and (name to be added in an edit later) by Lisa Gardner.
I started The Lovely Bones somewhere around Christmas but I'm counting it anyways. It's a gorgeous book but not an easy one to read. I was sort of looking forward to the movie but I think I'll have to wait and get some distance before I see it. This is my second time reading it and I found that it had a different sort of resonance for me. I highly recomend it and I'm not going to summarize it, that's what Wiki's for right?
(insert name here) is a fairly typical FBI-agent-catches-serial-killer with a decent twist. I really like this genre and this particular writer does it pretty well. I like the way she handles her characters. Her book The Perfect Husband is a particular favorite of mine. Not High Literature in any way but a good read in any case.
I'm more than halfway through Forests of the Heart by Charles de Lint (also started around Christmas) but it's been slow going. All my favorite characters only appear on the sidelines and I find it a bit... disappointing.
I wonder if I should even bother with the comics. I read Cable #10 this week, it might be my first comic of the year. I like the series but I can't help wanting to see it all resolved. The art is nice and crisp and the story is good, I like the way they're handling the X-men in the past.
