She's awesome. She's the one who really raised me, since the divorce and my dad moved away. From since I was little, to now... From kissing scrapes to assuring me wasn't going to fail college, she's been that person.
Since I was little, she ingrained in me the importance of education. She home schooled me and made learning fun. Through this, I learned how to become self-reliant, independent, organized, and passionate for learning. These skills resulted in my great success at university. She's let me learn too on my own, by balancing advice and guidance with letting me try things on my own. Education is a big part of my life, and I owe it all to her.
There's so many other ways she's inspired me.
----Her strength and work ethic. I never feel like I can't do something because she's raised me to believe in myself. She's always pushing me to aim higher.
----Standing up for those who don't have a voice, and to have compassion. She's so nice! She's always helping her co-workers above and beyond, even helping them in sorting out their own lives.
----Her ability to recover. A lot of life events have happened to us, but she always picks up and moves on. Most recently, I was amazed at her determination and physical strength in learning how to walk again after breaking her leg and ankle in five places. Not to say she wasn't scared, but that she tackled it and worked her leg. We're so glad she can walk. She's recovered from other things. She's amazing.
There's so much more about her, so many facets to her role in our family and our relationship. She's definitely one of the tops, if not THE top, on my list of 100 things I love.
