Acorn the little red colt; A colt's life

Aug 20, 2011 01:16

This is a story I found when I cleaned out my computer desk. I wrote this when I was in second grade. I can't believe I used semicolons at age 7 or 8. I was awesome. I'm gonna type it below. It's not long. It's unedited save for me putting paragraph breaks.

I couldn't see over the tall wildflowers and buttercups and I wanted to see what was in the world )

fiction, weather, children, flowers, brain, horses, awesome, real life, animals, story

That is adorable! I have so many stories like this from when I was younger. Only not half as good as this xD

This is the cutest thing in the history of cute things! I'm in awe of your second-grade talent, too! I knew high school students who couldn't write this well.

Your vocabulary was amazing and descriptive, and I love the dialect you gave the owner. And the way you described the birth and the realization of the colt finding his hooves. That is really self-aware for a kid to write.

This was just totally adorable! And so are you!

I was a precocious kid. I was thinking about the awareness too-- I tried to write what it was like to be born. Kids this age usually write things like "My name is Timothy. I have blue eyes. I like monster trucks. My mom made us cookies but she dropped them on the floor."

X3 Thank you! You're adorable too! Let's be adorable together!~
