i tried to look ahead, but the story was already over.

this morning started with a scream. or rather, Anastasia Screamed. i took a break from the monotony of my CD collection to listen to the radio as i was getting dressed. WZBC came through in fits and spurts of static, so i tuned in WMBR, my radio ( Read more... )

Anastasia Screamed cut a tremendous version of "Marquee Moon" for WMBR, which was included on a double CD of live performances the station assembled. I used to place it on my mix tapes in college very frequently. I never knew anything else about them, though. Thank you for the information.

It is called Pipeline. Very excellent, aside from Anastasia Screamed, there's Lou Barlow playing "Skull" on an acoustic, and a rare Helium song.

Thanks for the link! How funny that Anastasia Screamed and Scarce are both on it. I guess it covers a span of a few years.

I love that Helium song. Oddly enough, I first heard of them through Chick, who recommended them to darling_effect The Dirt Merchants were good, too.

Have you heard Mary Timony's new album? I've been mixed on her last few, but she usually puts on good live shows.

By the way, Scarce have reformed and are playing shows again. I wouldn't be surprised to see them play NYC before too long. (Plans are also underway for a new record too.)
