I keep thinking that my allergies must relent one of these days... but the day never comes. It's been more than 2 weeks already. My sinuses are still a complex snot factory. *sniffle*snort* I dislike taking antihistamines because they make me wonky. But it's better than coming down with a sinus infection after some random bacterium floating in the air finds its way into my poorly ventilated sinuses and decides to call it home.
That's why I eventually got
sinus surgery when I lived in Texas (and had health insurance). I was going to the doctor once a month, every month, because I had yet another high-temperature sinus infection. After a few years, the doctor finally said that it was bad medicine to be giving me antibiotics so frequently so he authorized the surgery instead. It worked. I'm much more likely to blow out the crud that builds up from my sinuses before an infection develops.
I wish there was a surgery that would eliminate allergies, instead. I think maybe dogs have it better with their itchy paws.
Oh, and for anyone interested, the BBC has a good website for tracking the developments with the swine flu.
